 Greetings from the Kepha Institute at Columbia International University. Let me briefly introduce you to who we are and what we do. The Kepha Institute is the administrative unit for housing CIU’s online Chinese-language programs. While CIU’s academic colleges and schools are responsible for curriculum development and supervision, the staff of the Kepha Institute performs the day-to-day tasks related to offering the programs.
The Kepha Institute, as a unit of CIU, adopts fully the mission of CIU: “to educate people from a biblical worldview to impact the nations with the message of Christ.” We aim to unfold another chapter of CIU’s vision for global missions by bringing Christian higher education to the developing world. The Kepha Institute collaborates closely with various colleges, departments, and programs at CIU. We offer degree programs in master’s degrees in business administration, education, clinical counseling, and ministry studies. With the rapid growth of the Christian population in the developing world, the Kepha Institute takes on the responsibilities of equipping God’s people with sound biblical knowledge, professional skills, and a vision of world mission.
We call it the Kepha Institute because “Kepha” sounds like the Chinese word for “enlightenment.” It is our hope that students taking programs in the Kepha Institute will experience that enlightenment that will enable them to develop the knowledge and skills needed to serve their communities.
