Ministry Leadership (Online), BS

Purpose

The Bachelor of Science in Ministry Leadership offers a comprehensive approach to training students in the biblical knowledge and strategic ministry skills needed to serve effectively as leaders in church and para-church organizations. This program equips students with the tools and resources necessary to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals, families, and communities. Above all, graduates of the Ministry Leadership program leave Columbia International University with a deep sense of purpose and passion for serving others and sharing the love of Christ within their context. 

Objectives

• Demonstrate a deep understanding of biblical texts, applying sound interpretational methods, and exhibiting communication effectiveness in various ministry contexts.
• Exhibit effective leadership skills, strategic planning abilities, and proficiency in managing and leading ministry teams.
• Demonstrate the knowledge and skills needed to minister to individuals, families, and communities, addressing spiritual, emotional, physical, and social needs and fostering life transformation and ministry impact.

Completion Requirements

• Minimum 120 semester hours of credit
• Minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA
• Completion of a minimum of 30 semester hours of CIU coursework
• Completion of a biblical studies core that includes 18 hours of Bible/theology/ministry courses and at least 12 hours of additional interdisciplinary Bible-related course
• Minimum of 30 semester hours of General Education
• Completion of the 36 hour Ministry Leadership major
