Intercultural Studies Certificate


Overview

The Certificate in Intercultural Studies provides students with an essential understanding of the mission of God, culture, worldview and ethnography in the two required courses for this certificate. Students are allowed to select the second two courses in Intercultural Studies that meet their specific areas of interest. This four course certificate meets the basic requirements for a concentration in this subject matter and can be plugged into other degree programs. This program is available completely online, or can be done as a combination of resident and online courses.

Admission Requirements

  • Affirm to be a Christian and agree with CIU’s Doctrinal Standard
  • Official transcript for highest earned degree and any master’s level credits earned
    • A minimum 2.5 GPA for the most recent degree obtained.
  • Essay (800 words total)
  • Church Leader Reference

Completion Requirements

Students must complete 12 hours of specified coursework with a minimum GPA of 2.5 in order to receive the certificate in Intercultural Studies.

This certificate program is not eligible for federal Title IV financial aid funds – i.e. Federal Direct Loans. Students who are interested in exploring other financial aid options should contact the Financial Aid Office.
