ENG 3320 - African-American Literature Credits: 3
This course provides you with a survey of African American literature from slavery to the present. Readings include poetry, essays, slave narratives, short stories and novels. A number of classic and contemporary texts will illustrate dominant themes in African American literature, examine the political and social climate surrounding the writing of such texts, and showcase the unique contribution of African-American writers to the American literary tradition. Prerequisite: ENG 1111.
