CNS 9412 - Quantitative Research Methodology


Credits: 3

This research course provides students with the core knowledge and skills for designing quantitative research, including data analysis and applying statistical concepts. Students will examine ethical issues involved in research and the impact of subject diversity on research design, measurement, implementation, and generalization of findings. Students will deepen their familiarity and use of library and methodological resources. Students will learn to critically evaluate and research publications concerning types of research, the range of research designs, research methodology, and subject-related study elements. This course will utilize a problem-solving perspective with an emphasis on the selection of and practice with appropriate statistical tests for a research design. Students will use software to calculate statistics and interpret and present results, applying and synthesizing their knowledge and skills by developing a quantitative research plan.
