CNS 9931 - Internship – Domains Credits: 3
The internship is a supervised training experience that will prepare students to successfully function as professional counselor educators across the domains of teaching, clinical, supervision, research, leadership and advocacy. Internship experiences emphasize the integration of theory and research through applied practice in a variety of settings and situations. This course serves as Part 2 of a two-part supervised internship experience in a selected educational setting from a minimum of two of the three remaining domains (leadership and advocacy, supervision, and research counseling). Students will complete a total of 300 hours in their internship through which they engage in most of the activities of a regularly employed professional in the setting. Students will meet one hour a week in individual or triadic supervision with their domain supervisor and one hour a week in group supervision.
