CNS 6465 - Personality Disorders Credits: 3
This course focuses on the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of personality disorders. Students will explore the theoretical underpinnings of personality development and the factors contributing to personality disorders. The course will cover the DSM-5 criteria for 10 different personality disorders and their associated symptoms. Students will develop skills in conducting comprehensive personality assessments and formulating differential diagnoses. Treatment options, including psychotherapy, will be discussed, with an emphasis on the challenges of working with different personality disorders. A variety of case studies will be explored throughout the course to illustrate the complexities of different personality disorders.
