ICS 6440 - New approaches and trends in Mission Theology Credits: 3
In this course, students acquire the competence to orient themselves in the multitude of newer approaches to mission theology and develop their own view relevant to their life and context.
The background is formed by missionary theological developments of the 20th century, which characterize the paradigm shift from the colonial to the postcolonial era. In addition, different confessional perspectives also come into focus. Subsequently, the focus will be on newer approaches, such as “missional theology”, “mission shaped church”, “missionary movements” and “intercultural theology”.
