Theology and Education Postgraduate Certificate (Korntal)

The Postgraduate Certificate in „Theology & Education” provides students with selected advanced competences pertinent to educational ministries. As required course students take EDU 9340 Spiritual Formation in Higher Education/ MIN 9431 Personal Spiritual Transformation or MIN 9465 Leadership, decision-making and theological reflection. This required course focusses on key dimensions of the educator as a person and leadership philosophy in education. In addition students select two 9000-level courses (EDU) that meet their specific areas of interest.
Courses completed as part of this certificate can be applied to the DML or EdS degrees offered by CIU Korntal.

Objectives:
• Identify and evaluate critical issues in education with a special focus on theological education across cultures
• Demonstrate Biblical and theologically informed assessment of educational theories and praxis.
• Develop competencies in developing educational programs in the student’s own cultural and educational context

Admission Requirements:
Master’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalence (requirements for studies at doctoral level). Three years of experience in an educational ministry. Transfer credits are not accepted for this certificate.

Completion Requirements:
Completion of all courses with a GPA of 3.0 or higher (Doctoral level requirements)

Time Limitation:
The certificate must be completed within two years of first term.
