EDU 4600 - Content Area Reading and Writing

This course surveys strategies to support reading and writing, integrating a variety of genres into curriculum across content areas. Emphasis is placed on instructional design addressing cultural and linguistic diversity and is focused on the developmental nature of literacy growth in the early childhood and elementary years. Candidates will explore how learners read for understanding and how learners organize, plan, and write for understanding across content areas.
