Disaster Relief and Emergency Management, MA


Overview

The MA in Disaster Relief and Emergency Management provides students with knowledge and skills necessary to lead responses to and recovery from natural disasters and emergencies.

Objectives

Students will be able to: 

  • Lead response and recovery teams responding to natural disasters and emergencies.
  • Demonstrate appropriate communication and care to those affected by disasters and emergencies.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the international principles of emergency management and the emergency management structure in the United States.

  • Official transcript for highest earned degree and any master’s level credits earned
    • A minimum 2.0 GPA for the most recent degree obtained.

Time Limitation

This program can be finished within 15 months and must be finished within 5 years of the initial start date.

Transfer Policy

Students may transfer in up to six hours from prior related graduate level work, subject to the approval of the DREM Program Director. 

Completion Requirements

  • A minimum GPA of 2.5.
